Announcement: Ó Dochartaigh clan gatherings
Dia duit from your Ó Dochartaigh clan kinsmen who live in Derry and Inishowen. Cead Mile Failte!
Ó Dochartaighs and their kin from around the world planned to meet July 23 through 28, 2020 in Ireland. Sadly however, due to travel restrictions and coronavirus precautions, the 2020 reunion did not proceed. View the official Ó Dochartaigh reunion web site for more information.
No matter the spelling of your Ó Dochartaigh name, Doherty, Dougherty, Daugherty, Darity, Doerty, Ó Doherty, Dockarty, and many, many more, all are welcome. Anyone with a connection to the clan is encouraged to attend our reunions.
Since 1985, we have held eight World-wide reunions. It is great to hear all the different accents greeting each other as cousins. At the registration table, when asked for their name, attendees give the usual response of their last name. The registration volunteer at the desk would then say, “and……, your first name…., or perhaps where are you from….., we need more than just your last name.” We have Jacks meeting Jacks, Bobs greeting Bobs. It is fun.
Spread the Word: Please forward this invitation to everyone in your family circle. We want everyone to know about our reunions. Or send us their name and email address and we will put them on the list to receive information. We also have a FaceBook group – Ó Dochartaigh Reunion. Be sure to join the FB group and connect with our community.
Hopefully in the summer of 2025 we’ll gather again. If you have any questions, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Tickets: Our web site www.odochartaighreunion.com will provide information about the next reunion in Ireland.
When the clan gathers again, the Ó Dochartaigh people will happily join in fellowship on the old green sod. We look forward to seeing each of you, and promise a wonderful, memorable adventure in the land of our ancestors.
Go n-éirí an bóthar leat,
